Breast cancer surgery

Breast cancer, a disease that originates in breast tissue, affects 1 in 8 women in this country. Though rare, men can also have breast cancer.

Our Chicagoland breast cancer surgeons specialize in the following procedures to treat breast cancer:

  • Breast conserving surgery, including partial mastectomy, lumpectomy and quadrantectomy
  • Mastectomy, including simple, skin-sparing, nipple-sparing, modified mastectomy and radical mastectomy
  • Lymph node surgery, including axillary lymph node dissection and sentinel node surgery
  • Breast reconstruction

Our surgical oncology team in Naperville and Elmhurst, including breast surgeon Christine Gresik, M.D., has expertise in breast cancer surgery. We’ll take time to listen to you and talk about what you can expect from surgery. We’ll also present possible options for reconstruction. Then we’ll work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your personal goals.
