Edward-Elmhurst Health & Fitness guest policy

Your guests are welcome at our medically-based fitness center. Here’s our policy:

  • Edward-Elmhurst Health & Fitness adult members have four 'E-Guests' loaded into the check-in system annually (January - December). If all passes have been used for the year, you may bring a guest for $15.
  • Adult guests must be accompanied by an Edward-Elmhurst Health & Fitness member. Guests must complete paperwork and present their driver's license/picture ID for admittance.
  • Adult guests who live within a 50 mile radius of Edward-Elmhurst Health & Fitness will be limited to four visits per calendar year.
  • Child guest visits are unlimited. Usage of an 'E-Guest' is permitted (1:1 ratio and four times per year). Child guests may also opt to pay the $5/child/visit fee.
  • E-Guest passes are non-transferable between individual members on the same membership.
  • FREE Guest Day occurs the third Friday of every month and does not count as an 'E-Guest'.

If you have questions or comments regarding our guest policy, please contact the manager on duty or the Edward-Elmhurst Health & Fitness membership office: 630-646-7917.

Can I put my membership on hold for a medical reason?

  • Yes. We can freeze your membership for a medical reason.
  • Requests for freezing a membership will be honored for medical reasons only. Requests must be in writing and are to include a physician’s note and membership card.
  • Monthly dues will not be charged during a medical freeze. Freezes must be requested at the time of medical attention. Freezes can be retroactive for a maximum of two months.
  • Upon completion of a freeze for medical reasons, the member must present a written note with a physician’s permission to return. Failure to provide a physician’s release to exercise does not remove the obligation to pay membership dues.
  • A freeze will be granted for a minimum of two months up to a maximum of 12 months. Billing will resume after one year or upon return from a medical freeze.
  • All membership privileges are suspended during a freeze.

Can I put my membership on hold for a vacation?

  • Yes, you can make a request to bridge a membership for out-of-state travel/residence. Other circumstances are subject to the approval of Fitness Center Management. Requests must be in writing and are to include the member’s membership card.
  • A bridge will be granted for a minimum of two months and a maximum of six months. Extensions after the original return date will be considered only if accompanied by a written request from the member. Failure to make a request for an extension will result in the member account being billed in accordance with the original bridge request.
  • Requests for a bridge that is retroactive will not be considered.
  • One-half the monthly dues will continue to be charged during the bridged period.
  • Memberships may not be downgraded (e.g., individual to midday) at the time of a bridge.
  • Upon completion of a bridge, the member will be responsible for picking up his/her membership card in the Member Services office.
  • All membership privileges are suspended during a bridge.
  • Members who pay Edward-Elmhurst Health & Fitness dues annually will not be eligible.
