Pediatric cancer and hematology outpatient services

We understand how a cancer or blood disorder diagnosis can turn your family’s world upside down. For more than 10 years, Edward-Elmhurst Health has been providing compassionate, expert care for children with these conditions. 

Edward Hospital, in collaboration with the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, offers outpatient pediatric cancer and hematology services in Naperville. The program offers families convenient outpatient treatment closer to home, so you no longer need to travel into the city for most of your child’s appointments.

Seamless care close to home for your child

Continuity of care is key when it comes to managing your child’s treatment for cancer or a blood disorder. Through our collaboration with the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, your child can receive seamless care between the two locations. 

On the day of the appointment, you and your child will arrive at our Pediatric Special Procedures Area, where he or she will receive treatment. Our nurses, specially trained in hematology and oncology, will work directly with your child, while child-life specialists help maximize your child's comfort.

Your child’s appointment may also include a check-in with his or her pediatric hematologist/oncologist or advanced-practice registered nurse from Comer Children’s Hospital — all in one convenient visit.

• Hydration and supportive care
• Injections and infusions

Schedule an appointment

Your child’s hematologist/oncologist will let you know when some of your child’s outpatient care can be transitioned to Edward Hospital and will direct the process for you.

For new patients (those who do not currently have a Comer Children’s Hospital pediatric oncologist), call 844-UCM-KIDS or speak with your child's primary care physician.
