Edward Hospital clinical nursing rotations
We offer clinical rotation experience as part of a nursing degree program in coordination with select, contracted schools. Other nursing internships are not available.
The following is information for undergraduate rotations.
For school coordinators
To request a clinical rotation, school coordinators should complete and email the Clinical Experience Request form.
In order for students to receive access to our electronic medical record, complete and submit information for each student using the Student Data form, at least two weeks prior to the rotation start date.

To be completed on or before your first unit clinical rotation:
Faculty and Students are not permitted to begin clinical experiences until you submit the completed paperwork. Please download the Information Systems Code of Compliance form. All faculty and students must sign an individual form.
All code of Compliance forms will need to be scanned and emailed together to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to 630-548-1342.
Faculty must review the Faculty Orientation Handbook. Students must review the Student Orientation Handbook.

Post Rotation forms
If you or your students would like to recognize a staff nurse who exceeded your expectations for the clinical rotation, complete and submit the Excellence in Clinical Teaching form
Once you receive your Epic log-in information, you may also access our Health Stream program from any Edward computer or from your home computer. HealthStream houses educational material including:
- Epic tips sheets
- Alaris pumps tutorials
- Pyxis tutorial
- Lift equipment tutorial

If you are connecting remotely from a non-Edward computer, visit https://www.healthstream.com/hlc/edward
If you are using an Edward computer:
- go to My Edward/Education and Training/Learning at Edward
- Click on “My Learning” and log into the system
- Please contact our ISS department at 630-527-3346 if you have any difficulties accessing the program
- Review the APN Orientation Manual.
- Provide evidence of:
- Current Nursing License
- CPR provider status
- Immunizations including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and T-Dap
- Flu vaccine if clinical time is between October and March
- TB test within one year
- Hepatitis Vaccination
- Criminal Background check
- Drug screen
- HIPAA and OSHA training verification
- At least two weeks before your first clinical day, sign and return:
- All forms should be scanned and emailed to: Denise.Arp@eehealth.org
