Giving back

As the non-profit fundraising arm of Edward Hospital, Edward Foundation’s mission is to help the hospital provide the highest quality services, technology, facilities and staff to the communities we serve. With the help of generous Foundation donors like you, the following lifesaving resources have made a difference to thousands of Edward patients in recent years:

  • $1.9 million for da Vinci® robotic technology, allowing surgeons to perform complex operations with increased precision
  • $1.5 million toward the expansion and renovation of the Newborn and Pediatric Intensive Care Units for critically ill infants and children
  • Construction of the first Ronald McDonald House Charities Family Room in the state of Illinois to provide a place where anxious parents can rest just steps away from their child’s bedside
  • $1 million toward the purchase of 3-T MRI technology
  • $1 million expansion of the Edward Cancer Center in Naperville
  • $1 million for the expansion of Linden Oaks Behavioral Health to provide diagnosis and treatment for adults and adolescents struggling with behavioral health disorders
  • $1 million for the creation of a hybrid operating room in Edward Heart Hospital, one of only four in the state that allows for both open surgical and closed endovascular procedures to be performed in the same space
  • $600,000 for gastrointestinal diagnostic equipment for early detection of cancers
  • $500,000 for Access to Care to help uninsured and underinsured patients receive medical care
  • $100,000 to HealthAware, a five minute online screening test to assess risks for depression, stroke, cancer, sleep disorders and heart disease
  • $58,000 in scholarships to support Edward employees pursuing a degree in nursing
  • $20,000 in scholarships to college-bound Edward Hospital student volunteers
