The Edward Neurosciences Institute in affiliation with Northwestern Medicine, and Elmhurst Hospital’s partnership with Rush University, allow us access to world-class neurosurgery teams. These groups treat the full spectrum of neurological diseases using the latest technology and, when possible, minimally invasive procedures.

Some conditions we treat with neurosurgery include:

  • Aneurysms
  • Brain bleeds (subdural hematoma, intracranial cerebral hematoma)
  • Brain tumors
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Cerebral (brain) AVMs
  • Cervical, lumbar herniated discs
  • Cervical, thoracic, lumbar spinal tumors
  • Chiari malformations
  • Cubital tunnel syndrome
  • Degenerative spine disease
  • Hydrocephalus, normal pressure hydrocephalus
  • Pituitary lesions
  • Spinal AVMs
  • Tethered cord
  • Trauma
  • Trigeminal neuralgia
  • Ulnar neuropathy

The following are some neurosurgical procedures we perform:

  • Craniotomies
  • Dynamic stabilization options for spine (coflex and artificial discs)
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery for cranial and spinal tumors (Cyberknife)
  • Image-guided brain and spine surgery
  • Microvascular decompression and Cyberknife for trigeminal neuralgia
  • Minimally invasive microdiscectomy, lumbar laminectomies, instrumented lumbar fusions
  • Peripheral nerve surgery
  • Carpal tunnel release, ulnar nerve release/transposition
