Visiting hours and guidelines

COVID-19 (Coronavirus)  - Important information for visitors

Because the safety and protection of patients, staff, physicians and community is an absolute priority for Edward-Elmhurst Health, we have put the following visitor restrictions in place during the Coronavirus outbreak. View visitor restrictions and screening process

We understand your family and friends are important to your comfort, healing and recovery. We ask that you follow these visiting guidelines:

  • Visitors who are not completely healthy or have been exposed to a communicable disease should postpone visiting until symptoms subside.
  • After 9 p.m., visitors should wear or carry a visitor ID.
  • Some units have ‘quiet time hours’ in the afternoon for patients to get needed rest.

Please let staff members know if you have special visiting needs.

Mother/Baby (OB): 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Mother’s primary support person is allowed 24-hour visitation. For security purposes, all visitors are required to wear a visitor badge.

Pediatrics/Pediatric Intensive Care: 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Parents may be in the Pediatrics Department all day and one parent may spend the night.
