I believe that self-care is central to health care, and as individuals we need to be armed with knowledge and skills that empower us to manage our health. As a biofeedback specialist my role is to facilitate a learning and therapeutic process that allows patients the opportunity to engage more fully in their healthcare by improving the ability to self-regulate. I value the power of a shared partnership between myself and the patient for that learning and clinical progress to take place. I honor the wisdom and skill that is already present to inform how the individualized process takes shape. And finally, I believe clinical progress is also dependent on a team effort between treating providers who are responsible for informing and collaborating when needed.
