Nurse resident program

Edward-Elmhurst Health is proud to offer a nurse residency program to help recent nursing graduates transfer into the clinical setting as healthcare professionals.  

During the program, each nurse resident will be assigned a facilitator or preceptor to help ensure a successful transition into nursing within a safe, nurturing learning environment.

Curriculum concepts include:  

  • Disease specific care
  • Evidence based practice
  • Communication and teamwork
  • Patient-centered care
  • Safety and quality

Critical thinking, professional accountability and responsibility are all emphasized throughout the program.

Both Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital have been awarded Magnet® status, the highest honor a hospital can achieve for nursing care. As a new nurse here, you’ll be led by our dedicated, Magnet-recognized nurses who deliver patient-centered, quality care every day.

The applications for both Edward and Elmhurst are now open for RN Resident.  The job number for Edward is #20215 and for Elmhurst, #20167.  Applications are now being reviewed for an August start date.
