Edward-Elmhurst Health has opened an enclosed drive-thru for lab and vaccination services at the Edward-Elmhurst Health Center – Downers Grove, 2205 Butterfield Rd.
The Center is already home to a Walk-In Clinic that opened in July 2021.
The Health Center, including drive-thru services, is open Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
With three lanes in an enclosed drive-thru, patients and passengers are protected from the weather while clinicians perform common lab tests and vaccinations, including rapid strep tests, bloodwork and COVID-19 tests and vaccinations. For a complete list of lab tests and vaccinations that are offered, visit www.EEHealth.org/drive-thru.
Outpatient lab testing and vaccinations, for patients of all ages – newborns and up, at the drive-thru are available by appointment only. Patients using the drive-thru service are encouraged (but not required) to be passengers in the vehicle rather than drivers, especially those who might be uneasy about blood draws.
Appointments can be made at EEHealth.org/schedule, via MyChart® or by phone at 630-527-3200. An expedited registration/check-in process is available for patients with a MyChart account. Patients without a MyChart account can sign up at https://mychart.eehealth.org.
A physician order must be placed in advance for all lab tests, including rapid strep tests and COVID-19 tests. After the physician order is placed, all lab tests can be scheduled online, except for COVID-19 tests. COVID-19 tests may be scheduled through MyChart or by calling 630-527-3200.
For those who do not have a doctor’s order for a rapid strep test or COVID-19 test, clinicians are available to see patients in person at the Health Center’s Walk-In Clinic. The Walk-In Clinic accepts most major health insurance plans and has self-pay options.
