Substance abuse
Take back control of your life from addiction
Substance abuse is a serious problem. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) notes more than nine percent of people in the Chicago metropolitan area had a substance use disorder in 2010.
But you don’t have to let drug abuse and addiction control your life. You’ve taken an important step by learning more about this problem. At Linden Oaks Behavioral Health, our team is here to help you take the next step - and each one that follows.
Types of substance abuse we treat
In addition to our treatments for alcohol and marijuana, we treat patients who are addicted to many different types of drugs. Some of these drugs include:
- Cocaine
- Heroin
- Inhalants
- Methamphetamine (meth)
- Prescription drugs, such as oxycodone (OxyContin and Percocet), hydrocodone (Vicodin and Lortab), etc., that are overused or used in ways that weren't prescribed
Treatment options for substance abuse
No matter what substance you struggle with, you don’t have to face your problem alone. We’ll help you get sober and stay sober with our variety of treatment programs.
We offer a range of addiction treatments, including inpatient care options. One inpatient option is focused on detoxification in the hospital and the other is in a residential setting.
Identifying the problem is the first step to feeling better, especially when it comes to substance abuse. Our confidential one-on-one assessment, conducted by a licensed counselor, helps us assess your symptoms and determine the appropriate level of care so we can get you on the path to recovery.
Medication-assisted therapy
Medication-assisted therapy (MAT) is a particularly helpful treatment option for substance abuse that isn’t widely available elsewhere in our area. Depending on your particular substance use disorder and your symptoms, our doctors may be able to prescribe medication to help restore your brain’s normal functions. MAT can also reduce your withdrawal symptoms and decrease your cravings.
