    Holistic Approach in Treatment

Eating Disorders often exist with other co-occurring issues. This can include mood disorders like depression and anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, substance abuse, and self-injury. Our comprehensive treatment program allows us to treat these issues, as well as the eating disorder. By treating these complex psychological issues, our patients can experience improvement in all areas of their life.

    Our eating disorder treatment includes:

    Individualized Treatment

Recovering from an eating disorder looks different for each person, which is why we’ve tailored our Eating Disorder program to fit the unique needs of each individual. Within these programs, we utilize evidence-based practices and offer groups that treat both physical and dietary needs.

    Nutrition Education

These groups are ran by dietitians and in an effort to understand the patient’s perceptions about food. Through discussion about meal planning, physical vs, emotional hunger and distorted thoughts, this group provides a safe, therapeutic environment where our patients can begin re-building a healthy relationship with food.

    Exercise counseling

These groups are designed to educate and support patients as they discover a healthy approach to exercise. This group addresses the connection between exercise and body-image and assists the patients in associating exercise with body-positivity.

    Family Support

In addition to our psycho-education groups, all of our patients have a treatment team that they will see for both individual and family therapy. Often family members may feel overwhelmed or confused as to how they can support their loved one during treatment. Family sessions will help the patient’s loved ones gain the tools they need to foster the patient’s recovery in their home environment, and do so with open communication.
