Elmhurst Hospital has awarded its 2018 EMS (Emergency Medical Services) “Run of the Year” to members of the Elmhurst Fire Department (EFD), Black Shift and Northlake Fire Protection District (NFPD).
Kevin Bilotta, Annette Cioch, Tim Lisowski and Kevin Long of the EFD and Brian Houdek and John Zieserl of the NFPD were honored for their treatment of a patient who was injured in an SUV-motorcycle accident in September. They were recognized for excellent care given in the field, ability to follow protocol and documentation of the situation.
The “Run of the Year” recipients were honored in a ceremony at Elmhurst Hospital’s monthly Management Team meeting on Nov. 20.
The recognition capped off the year-long “Run of the Month” program, through which Elmhurst Hospital has honored area EMS providers since 2012. Teams are selected based on excellent communication from the field, excellent work in gathering information, clear and thorough documentation, superior clinical assessment skills, heroic behavior in the field, and superior partnership and teamwork with Elmhurst Hospital.
