Alex Behar, MD
, who is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and sports medicine, has joined the Elmhurst Neurosciences Institute.
Dr. Behar is accepting new patients at the Institute’s offices in Elmhurst, 1200 S. York Rd., Suite 3160 in the Center for Health on the Elmhurst Hospital campus. Dr. Behar received his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Rush University Medical Center, where he was chief resident, and completed his fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Behar’s clinical interests include ankle injuries, arthritis, back pain, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, concussions, exercise and fitness, fractures, hand/upper extremity issues, heel/ankle pain, hip pain, joint injections, knee pain, musculoskeletal therapy, neck pain, non-operative orthopedics, osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff injuries, sciatica, shoulder pain, spine problems, sports injuries, tendonitis, and wrist/hand injuries and disorders.
He treats adults and children ages 10 and up, and has served as team physician for many high school and college teams in the Chicago area.
Dr. Behar is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine and National American Spine Society. In addition to English, he is fluent in Spanish and Hebrew.
