Run for Recovery 5K

Registration is now open for the Run for Recovery 5K, presented by Linden Oaks Behavioral Health and Breaking Free.  The Run for Recovery 5K will take place at Danada Forest Preserve (Naperville Road south of Butterfield Road, Wheaton IL) on Saturday September 9, 2017.  Race start time is 10:00 a.m.

This Run/Walk is a partnership between Linden Oaks Behavioral Health and Breaking Free. Proceeds benefit addiction programs and addiction services in our community. The spirit of this 5K Run/Walk is to support those fighting addiction, remember those we’ve lost, and celebrate those in recovery.  

The course is a 5K trail-style course through woodlands, meadows and fields.  The 5K will be immediately followed by a post-race celebration including music and awards. All are welcome from competitive runners to novice walkers was well as children and adolescents.  

Registration is $35 and includes a 5K T-shirt.  Same-day race registration and packet pickup will start at 8:00 am.  For more information or to participate visit

The Run for Recovery 5K was founded as a way to de-stigmatize addiction issues in the community and coincides with National Recovery Month, which supports efforts for substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery.
