EMH Foundation Subaru Cares Donation

Through its “Subaru Loves to Care” initiative, Grand Subaru, 125 W. Grand Ave., Bensenville, recently donated 80 blankets, 10 craft kits and numerous care cards to Elmhurst Hospital’s Nancy W. Knowles Cancer Center. This is the second year of the program, in which Subaru is partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to donate blankets and messages of hope from Subaru customers to patients, along with arts and crafts kits for children undergoing cancer treatment.

“These items are very much appreciated by patients who often spend several hours in an infusion chair,” says Sharon Rimgale, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Director, Patient Care, Nancy W. Knowles Cancer Center. “The blankets are helpful as patients may get cold due to inactivity, or sometimes due to their condition or medication that is part of their treatment. The activity boxes will be enjoyed by our patients who prefer to pass the time with more artistic endeavors.”
