For the second year in a row, Becker’s Hospital Review has named Edward Hospital to its list of the nation’s “100 Great Community Hospitals.” Edward is one of only five community hospitals in Illinois to make the 2017 list.
Becker's selected hospitals for inclusion based on rankings and awards from organizations including the National Rural Health Association, iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, CareChex, American Nurses Credentialing Center and Leapfrog Group.
In 2016, Edward was named to Truven Health Analytics’ list of the nation’s “100 Top Hospitals.” In addition, Edward has achieved Magnet designation for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2005, 2010 and 2014.
Edward has nearly 5,300 employees, including 1,200 nurses and a medical staff of 1,100 physicians. Edward, Elmhurst Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health make up Edward-Elmhurst Health, a system with annual revenues of more than $1.3 billion, more than 60 outpatient locations across a service area of 1.7 million residents in the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago.
