Kishwaukee Medical Associates (KMA), a family medicine practice based in Sycamore, has joined Edward-Elmhurst Health, a system of three hospitals and more than 50 outpatient locations across the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago.
The partnership, which began January 1, will give KMA patients access to a wider range of health insurance plans, a more integrated electronic medical record system and advanced specialty care.
“Edward-Elmhurst Health shares our belief in the importance of primary care, family medicine and keeping our community healthy,” says Ronald Feldmann, MD, KMA. “We are truly committed to serving Sycamore, DeKalb and the surrounding community as we have since 1979.”
“We’re proud to welcome Kishwaukee Medical Associates to the Edward-Elmhurst family,” says Mary Lou Mastro, System Co-CEO, Edward-Elmhurst Health. “KMA’s long history, excellent reputation and commitment to its patients and community fit perfectly with our Healthy Driven approach to healthcare.”
KMA, located at 954 W. State St. in Sycamore, has six family medicine physicians – Drs. Mark Drendel, Kristin Mock, Ketan Morker, Catherine Ruetten, Timothy Ruetten and Michael Thornton, and three advanced practice clinicians – Elaine Lawrence, Cheri Sprietler and Teah Brandt, all nurse practitioners (NP).
In addition to caring for patients of all ages (newborns to seniors), KMA also offers lab, sleep, imaging and cardiac diagnostic services, and has a Walk-In Clinic with extended hours to treat minor illnesses.
