Brigitte Raahauge, CNM, APN, a Certified Nurse Midwife and licensed Advanced Practice Nurse, has joined Midwifery and Women’s Health of Elmhurst Clinic.
She is accepting new patients at Elmhurst Clinic’s offices in the Center for Health, 1200 S. York St., Suite 4120 in Elmhurst and Edward-Elmhurst Health Center, 130 W. Main St., Suite 302 in Lombard.
Raahauge joins Elmhurst Clinic’s other Certified Nurse Midwives, Mary Saracco, Marybeth Waldorf and Michelle Jackowski, all of whom are accepting new patients.

Raahauge received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Grinnell College in Iowa. She earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in nursing, and certificate in nurse-midwifery from Columbia University School of Nursing in New York.
Raahauge, a member of the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing, began her nursing career in the Chicago area. As a National Health Service Corps scholar, Raahauge worked in rural Tennessee as a midwife at a Women’s Wellness and Maternity Center. She was later promoted to Director of Midwifery Services and served in that position for five years before moving back to Illinois, where she worked as a midwife in the western suburbs.
The midwives of Elmhurst Clinic are Advanced Practice Nurses (APN) who are nationally certified and licensed by the state of Illinois as Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM). They specialize in low-risk pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care and care during all stages of a woman’s life.
Midwifery supports women with low-risk pregnancies to have a personalized delivery experience that offers alternative comfort measures, such as warm water hydrotherapy for labor and birth, in addition to traditional pain management options. Elmhurst Clinic’s midwives deliver babies at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Rd.
