The Edward Neurosciences Institute in affiliation with Northwestern Medicine has announced Michael Casey, DO, a neurosurgeon, is joining its team.
Dr. Casey recently completed a comprehensive craniospinal tumor fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in which he specialized in surgeries to treat skull base, peripheral nerve and spinal tumors. The neurosurgical oncology fellowship also included extensive procedures for cerebrovascular and peripheral nerve disorders.
Dr. Casey, a native of Naperville and 1994 graduate of Naperville Central High School, earned his medical degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove and completed his internship and residency in neurological surgery at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois.
He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Illinois State Neurosurgical Society, American Osteopathic Association and American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
Dr. Casey holds faculty appointments at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Department of Neurological Surgery and University of Colorado School of Medicine.
