SHARE Walk to Remember

Every October, a special event takes place to raise funds that are vitally needed to support SHARE’s mission of helping families who have experienced the loss of a child.

Donations from the SHARE Walk to Remember benefit the Edward Foundation's SHARE Program, helping to fund support groups, counseling services, activities and events, education and bereavement training, resource and reference materials, special projects and program supplies—tools to help guide families through the grieving process.

How it all started

The annual fundraising event began in 2005 when four moms, who met through the SHARE Program following their own losses, decided to join together to make a difference in memory of their precious children. The moms—Carrie Wrona of Plainfield, Laura Morgan of Naperville, Stephanie Fiore of Lisle and Amanda Albaugh of Oswego—wanted to provide families with an opportunity to share their tears with others who have experienced the loss of a baby, to publicly remember their children, and to find hope for the future.

In June 2010, funds raised through the Walk helped to create the beautiful Wings of Hope Angel Garden at Edward Hospital, where grieving parents can seek peace and comfort.
